Danish metal quintet MUDSLIDE was formed on a cold, misty winter evening in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark, and thus their musical universe may be explained – a hailstorm of chaotic and rigid intensity forged in unity with raw emotion and passion and beautiful, gripping soundscapes.
Hailing from the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark, the band consists of a handful of young musicians (all aged between 19 and 21), but despite the young age of the members in MUDSLIDE, they have already achieved a lot of experience. Over the years the band has played tons of concerts before thousands of people, created a very solid fan base, played with such bands as KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TEXTURES, THE RED CHORD, MISERY INDEX, ORIGIN, FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW, HATESPHERE, MERCENARY, THE PSYKE PROJECT and SUBMISSION and recorded a total of 2 EPs that reveal a rapid progression in the band's relatively short lifespan.
MUDSLIDE recently recorded a new 5-track EP entitled "VULTURES". The "VULTURES" EP shows a new, more mature, more focused and more intense MUDSLIDE. Lyrically, “VULTURES” addresses life ambiguously;
“It’s been of great importance to me that the lyrics weren’t just random personal scribbles. I wanted them to represent both an individual struggle – be it the death of someone dear to you or an attempt at conquering your own existence - but at the same time to portrait a view on a more general matter - such as, for example, society’s ability to etch away any individual, unique characteristics that do not correspond with normative behaviour” says vocalist Morten Christoffersen.
Produced and recorded by the band members themselves, and with artwork by singer Morten Christoffersen, the band has strived to express their artistic visions in every aspect of the new outing, and with mix and mastering by TUE MADSEN of Antfarm Studios (THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MNEMIC, HEAVEN SHALL BURN) a true metal monstrosity - sure to claim the attention of the metal community - has been born.
For years critics have deemed MUDSLIDE ready for recording a full-length album, while praising both the band’s ability to write songs that grab you by the throat and never let you go, but also the energy and intensity of the band’s live performance. And now - with the release of “VULTURES” - MUDSLIDE has set out to prove to the world that they mean business.
